# Better Neighbors LA

> Better Neighbors LA (BNLA) is a Los Angeles advocacy campaign working to keep housing as housing. We push to curb illegal short-term rentals, support enforcement of existing rules, and give Angelenos direct ways to act: reporting violations and contacting their Councilmembers.

Better Neighbors LA focuses on the connection between illegal short-term rentals (such as unpermitted Airbnbs and corporate-owned STRs) and the loss of long-term housing in Los Angeles. When homes are pulled off the rental market to operate as illegal hotels, fewer homes are available for the people who live and work in the city. BNLA advocates for enforcement of short-term rental rules and for policy that protects housing supply.

The organization is Los Angeles based and serves the LA area. It is active on Instagram and Facebook, and runs public campaigns encouraging residents to report illegal short-term rentals and to write to their elected officials on housing and enforcement issues.
